Nepalese Children Get a Sound Future
80% of Nepalese children are illiterate which means only 20% of the population are able to read and write. Basic health education and healthcare are also severely lacking.

Specific Concerns for Nepalese Women and Girls
- During menstruation, Nepalese women and children are treated as outcasts and left in the cow shed. They remain there until their period is over. Distribution and ability to purchase sanitary towels is low.
- 1 in 50 pregnant women expire during childbirth
- 70% of those in poverty are girls
- 88% of working women work 14 hours or for a greater period of time per day
- Himalayan girls and women are under risk of being sold into prostitution
- Nepalese women have tough and arduous lives. They are some of the only women whose life expectancy is shorter than that of men
- Nepalese women face challenges ranging from lack of education, healthcare through to menstruation discrimination.
Feemale.com wishes to fund:
- Gynecological camps enabling women to access health services as well as healthcare, enabling them to live more healthy lives. These camps would also provide sex education as there is no sex education within Nepalese education
- Distribution of free sanitary towels and underwear every month for use by women and girls
We wish to maximise the potential of women and girls in terms of their health and lives.
