Chair the Area
I want to rearrange the sofa suite and chairs in my lounge. What Feng Shui rules do I need to follow?
Try not to arrange the chairs with their backs to doors, instead place them against a wall. Where this is not possible, create stability behind the seat by putting a table or bookcase there.
Try not to arrange all the chairs so that they are all pointing towards the television. This is not conducive to communication and unity.
Arrange the seating so that there is a square in the middle for harmony.
Slanting Ceilings
Some of the rooms in my house have slanting ceilings. I have heard that this is poor feng shui.
Slanting ceilings can disrupt chi, making it literally rain harder on occupants. This can result in feelings of discomfort and make it difficult to relax. The solution is to hang a wind chime from the ceiling to ensure a more balanced distribution of chi energy.
Feeling Fantastic
Flower displays in my home make me feel fantastic. Would artificial flowers work just as well?
Fresh flowers radiate live chi energy and can bring about feelings of peacefulness and contentment. Orchids mixed with red flowers can revive a dull sex life, roses boost romance and cornflowers enhance passion and success.
Artificial flowers don’t have chi energy so they won’t lift your mood in the same way.
However, thoroughly dried out flowers can help encourage positive feelings in the home. However, they are not as effective as living flowers.
