Should you be using aluminium or copper cookware, you could be poisoning yourself.
These metals interact with food and heat, gather in your body, sometimes to the point extent that they get toxic.
High levels of aluminium, for example, have been related to headaches, indigestion, memory loss and brain disorders like Alzheimers disease.
Toxic levels of copper can affect the immune system adversely and enable cancer cells to grow. Once scoured with scouring pads, even stainless steel pots and pans can emanate tiny amounts of toxic metals, such as, chromium and nickel.
Even non-stick pans containing Teflon have been related to immune disorders and potential cancer related conditions.
If possible, it would be sensible to trade your present pots and pans for cookware with enamel coating or cast iron or glass.
