Britney Spears's hubby Kevin Federline has filed court papers going for sole custody of their two children, only the day after it was announced that the celebrity singer is seeking a divorce. He is also seeking spousal support.
Spears, who gave birth to her second son only two months ago, mentioned irreconcilable differences as the reason for their break up.
Spears and Federline, 28, have a 1 year old son, Sean Preston, and a baby son, Jayden James. Spears is understandably seeking custody of both children too. The couple only got married in autumn 2004.
Spears has waived her right to spousal support, asking each party to pay his/her own legal fees. She has also listed assets including jewellery, her earnings post the separation date, as well as other assets as separate property, thus off limits to Federline.
This was Federline's first marriage , despite the fact that when he met Britney he was dating his pregnant girlfriend Shar Jackson of TV's Moesha. Jackson went on to give birth to Federline's second child only months prior to marrying Spears.
Britney was born in Kentwood, Louisiana, in 1981. She shot to fame at 11 when she landed a part on the The All New Mickey Mouse Club TV show. Fellow Mouseketeers were Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake .
