Marks and Spencer 's chief executive, Stuart Rose, was in an extremely good mood yesterday as the new spring/summer fashion collection was launched.
It has been recently reported that £700m has been added to the company's share value, with the previous 6 months' profits having gone up 32%.
The new womenswear has been thoughtfully categorised for fashion press members into distinct lines, such as, Seventies, Romantic, Furture Tribes and Future Organic. However, they have been lumped together under Limited, Autograph and the main range of course.
We of course need all the assistance we can get to put together our fashion looks, especially if it is our lunch hour and we are buying food .
Moreover, Marks &Spencers is bringing out a range of bridalwear . This includes some wonderful wedding dresses, in duchesse satin, gold thread lining the bust. All these new wedding dresses are priced at under £150, along with the bridesmaids dresses .
There is also some fantastic satin lingerie: £20 a basque, £28 a bra and £10 a thong. The honeymoon should be cheaper as a result.
So what's news for next year, the big thing is going to be metallic linens, for shorts, tulip skirts as well as lightweight coats .
The metallic silver shift is £69 and the gold metallic brocade summer coat £89. There are also tons of sheer kaftans dotted with coins and sequins, starting from £35.
Overall, a great collection. The shoes, however, could be improved upon.
