Anger Quickly Ages You

Thu, 07 Sep 2006

Scientists have linked anger and lung function. Grumpy people get older, more quickly.

A new study recommends that when people feel the need to be angry, they should hold their breath.

They found that 670 people, aged 45-85, had higher anger levels anger at the beginning of eight year study, and less lung power at the end.

Anger and hostility have been linked with various problems in older people. The stress chemicals as well as metabolic changes in the body that go along with feelings of anger can cause headaches, high blood pressure, digestive problems and skin problems, like eczema . It can also lead to heart disease and asthma .

The British Association of Anger Management affirms that people either explode or implode with anger.

Exploders move onto rage immediately, causing harm to themselves, as well as others. Imploders, on the other hand normally just cause themselves damage by keeping in the anger for long periods.
