We all get a little angry sometimes, whether at a boyfriend, husband or even the kids! But some of us may go a little overboard!
Patience
will also assist you in cultivating
qualities for greater anger management. Patience is an invaluable
quality which can assist everyone in meditation and in life.
By purposefully cultivating patience you are preparing the
mind. This in turn will result in clarity, compassion and
right conduct. By cultivating patience you will cultivate
mindfulness, leading to a richer meditation practice.
By
cultivating patience, you can harness the energy of anger
and convert it into something positive and long lasting.
In order to cultivate patience, you must remember that everything unfolds
in its own time. Your body has developed from birth to what
you are today. Did you have
any control over it?
Plants grow, the seasons come and go
and things happen by themselves. The only alternative to
the mind's restlessness is patience. Behind any impatience
lies anger, in one form or another. It is through impatience
that we suffer in our minds, giving rise to stress.
Cultivating patience does not mean suppressing anger, but, using otherwise
misdirected energy in order to develop patience.
Patience leads onto stillness, which, in turn, leads to the experience
of "silence."
